Emo music

As for music, the most popular bands are ones like: My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, etc. There are heaps more, but I'm not going to list them all here! O_O
The emo music genre is personified by the ever-so-slightly depressing lyrics, screaming, and pure awesomeness! The genre is also related to Punk music, which is borrowed from heavily. You can't really go wrong when looking for emo music, but I'm pretty sure that you'd better steer clear of such retards as: Chris Brown, Akon, Rihanna, etc. They suck. Yeah. It's not TOO hard to figure out what you do and don't like. Don't get too up tight about what to listen to. Just listen to what you like, and things usually work out. Most members of the emo stereotype own an iPod, as cd players, well, you can't really carry most of them in your pocket (Unless you have gigantic pockets, which aren't emo at all!).

Emo hair

Emo hair for guys is usually short and spiky at the back, with a side fringe, although there are versions with completely long hair.

Girl's hair can be any length, but one popular style is to have it shortish and teased at the back, a side fringe, and two long pieces of hair falling forward over the shoulders.

Colours often reflect the mood of the person at the time when they dye their hair.
But if you want to dye your hair a particular colour, go for it! As with clothes, the expression of individuaity is more important than conforming to certain codes. The freedom is limitless. Any style will do, as long as the wearer is comfortable with it.

Emo fashion

Emo fashion mainly consists of skinny jeans, and tight tops. But, accessories are just as important. These can be wristbands, necklaces, jelly bracelets, headbands, hairclips, rings, and black rimmed glasses. Also, Chucks or Vans are essential (Those are shoes if you don't know). It is popular to wear mismatched shoes, and bright colours. And you don't have to just buy your clothes and wear them how they are. Alter them to whatever look you are trying to achieve. Basically anything goes, so don't feel pressured to look like anyone else. The point is to stand out and be yourself.
The "I'm wearing what I want and if you don't like it you know where to shove it." attitude is a crucial part of the emo look. Just have fun with how you look. ^_^

Introduction (or something)
